2008 Tim Brauch Memorial Contest Results - This year’s 10th Annual Tim Brauch Memorial Contest took place this past weekend and was definitely the most memorable event to date. Friends, family, and local skaters all came out this past Saturday and Sunday

2008 Tim Brauch Memorial Contest Results

This year’s 10th Annual Tim Brauch Memorial Contest took place this past weekend and was definitely the most memorable event to date. Friends, family, and local skaters all came out this past Saturday and Sunday in memory of Tim Brauch, who was and is one of the most respected skaters of all time. Tim’s great talent and willingness to help local youth in skateboarding is what has kept this contest going for 10 years and that is why the leaders of skateboarding came to compete in this great contest.

Saturday, September 27 street contest that was held at the Scotts Valley Skate Park built in memory of Tim Brauch through the Tim Brauch Memorial Fund was a huge success with 35 groms and 82 ams entries all of which skated to the music of DJ D’Funkt. Sessions held 2 raffle drawings each of the contest that included prizes from Skullcandy, Vans, Zune, Dakine, Dragon, Consolidated, Dwindle, Thrasher, Bones, Foundation and many more. Press including FuelTV were there on sight to catch all the action at this years contest including Best Trick made Blake Svendsen which got him hooked up with a $250.00 Wahoo’s Fish Tacos Gift Certificate

The kids who took home the bacon or this case a TMB Pimp Cup all incrusted with rhinestones at this year’s 10th Annual Tim Brauch Memorial Street Contest were:

Sunday’s contest hosted by World Cup of Skateboarding was at the new Lake Cunningham Regional Skate Park in San Jose, CA. Throughout the entire day this park was referred to as the “Best Park in the World” most likely because it is the largest skate park in California at 68,000 square feet and because it features the worlds longest full pipe, tallest vert wall and largest cradle. Not only was the 10th Annual Tim Brauch Memorial Contest at the best skate park but we also had the best pros and legends of skateboarding come out to compete in the contest including Christian Hosoi, Steve Caballero, and Duane Peters, Benji Galloway and Jimmi the Greek.

The ladies went first in the day and totally killed it! Congratulations!

Women:

Some of the biggest legends then competed in the Grand Masters Divison. You would have never known that this was Christian Hosoi’s first contest back with him busting out method and lean airs. Sessions very own Steve Caballero was also there to compete in memory of Tim and pulled a few elguerials.

Next up was the local division where the top 3 advanced to compete against the Pros.

Locals:
1. Nate Linford –Sunnvale, CA

The last division of the day was the Pros runs where Serge Ventura did a McTwist and Cookie Head Jenkins busted Backside Airs and Big Madonnas.

3. Josh “Skreetch” Sandoval
4. Sergie Ventura
5. Josh Balogh

Taking “Trick of the Day” was Duane Peters whose wheel flew off in the middle of an invert and kept going on 3 wheels; he won a $250.00 gift certificate to Wahoo’s Fish Tacos. Congratulations to all of the winners! This day definitely goes down in this contest history as one of the best!

After all the skating and awards were finished at the Lake Cunningham Regional Skate Park everyone headed over to Wahoo’s Fish Tacos at Santana Row to celebrate and have some drinks while listening to RS2 Solid Sound perform.
