Zoo York is proud to announce the fourth installment of the most prestigious international amateur skateboard contest “Zoo York’s AM Getting Paid”. The focus of the contest is to showcase the very best in amateur skateboarding like no other amateur event out there. This pro free event will happen during July 18th to 20th 2008 at South Parc in Montreal, (Quebec). This years prize purse is $10 000 dollars.
This years contest will be held in the middle of the summer making it a great opportunity for skate companies to visit eastern Canada to promote their pro & amateur teams simultaneously. There are many opportunities to organize demos, in store signings or to simply go out & get footage for upcoming videos. Montreal is near Quebec city, Ottawa & Toronto. All of these cities are known for having some of the best street spots in North America*.
The event is brought to you by Zoo York, Monster energy drink, Fallen footwear, Underworld skate shop & SBC Media in collaboration with Dakine backpacks, Brigada eyewear, Skull Candy headphones, Vestal watches, Zero skateboards, New Era caps, Diamond, Silver trucks, Protec helmets, 33 Mag, Transworld Skateboarding Magazine, 411vm, Dose & Expose Magazine.
During 3 action packed days, the event will bring together some of the best international amateur skateboarding talents. The contest in the past has been a huge hit & has received national & international coverage on television & magazines. It was deemed one of the biggest contests of the year by SBC magazine. Past contest winners include Antoine Asselin, Nyjah Huston & Ryan Descenzo.
The Best Trick is one of the most exciting parts of the contest and gives skaters a last chance to get some extra cash. The Best Trick contest is held after the finals. The cash will be handed out for every single banger that goes down on the selected BEST TRICK obstacles.
Zoo York's AM Getting Paid will be held at South Parc. This awesome skate parc designed by Dan Vezina and will please any skateboarder from across the world. South Parc is located at 8100 Taschereau. For more information call 450-672-4884.
Zoo York’s AM Getting Paid registration fee is $100 USD which includes entry for the contest & best trick contest & for the first 100 pre-registered riders they will receive a Dakine backpack.
With various magazine ads, over 50,000 flyers, 10,000 posters & 10,000 stickers going out to various skateboard shops & distributors around the world, this contest will quickly attract the worlds best. We will also be seen across North America at events like San Diego’s ASR trade show, Know Show in Vancouver & Montreal. This is a very special event & history in the making! Be there!
