Taylor Bray won the skate park competition last Saturday at the Gatorade Free Flow Tour’s stop in Grand Prairie, Texas and advances to Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals in Salt Lake City.
The junior jam division put on a great display of emerging talent at today’s event. Most notably the Braugh Brothers took the top two spots with a couple of greats runs utilizing the street portion of the “pro park.” Nick Braugh, coming in second, put down a big ollie to flat off the pyramid and a melon grab up the big quarter. Conner, however, took the top prize with his airwalk off the Gatorade wave and double grab over the spine.
In the open division it was a good competition with some of Texas’s best fighting it out for a chance to represent in SLC. After all was said and done it came down to the top 5; Jordan Halley, Taylor Bray, Joey Nicotra, Austin Mabrey, and Josh Love. Coming in fifth place was Joey Nicotra with a big tre flip over the pyramid gap and a gap to 5-0 on the a-frame. In fourth place was Austin Mabrey with a smooth feeble grind on the flat bar and crooked grind over the a-frame box. Taking third place was Jordan Halley with a front cab 360, big spin over the hip, and nollie backside slip over the hip. Coming in a very close second place was Josh Love with his big kickflips over the pyramid gap, switch heelflip over the channel gap, and quarter to bank transfer over the hubba. Taking first place was the returning winner Taylor Bray who’s consistent riding all day bought him another ticket to represent Texas at the finals in SLC. Some of Taylor’s biggest tricks included huge ollie north over the pyramid gap, backflip up the quarterpipe onto the deck, and nollie bigspin over the hip.
