Three of the top 5 rode for Bacon Skateboards in the pro final at round one of the Bi-Fecta. Bacon seems to have a solid presence in Oregon, to the point where when skating another park, a local kid asked about the Bi-fecta “Was the Bacon team there?” When asked how come he did not go check out he said that he did not have bus fare. Bacon team rider Kevin Kowalski pretty much cleaned up with his solid style, good lines and deep bag of tricks to take the win, Mason Huggins and Josh Mattson took 2nd and 3rd. Not sure what is in the air in Oregon but the finals were pretty much on fire with criss cross craziness. Guess clean air and great parks in every town will breed great skaters. Even the cops were cool and only came by to tell people not to put stickers on their car
Oregon parks breed some sick skaters; Jake Selover is only 12 years old and already able to ollie up to disaster on the bank wall
Kevin Kowalski cruising a no comply crail? In practice
Kevin Kowalski does a crazy crail to tail through the less than 90 degree corner while Lance Mountain watches
Sky Siljig ollies up into the giant tractor seat style feature in the front bowl
Madonna on the big vert wall
Twelve year old Steve Pineiro came all the way from Florida and scored $50 for first place. Think he even did 540 on the vert wall
Jamie Jacobson makes proper use of the dino
Johnny Turgeson – back smith
Mike Barnes – frontside invert through the corner
Tim Johnson hucks a stalefish through the corner. This corner, along with the dinosaur are some of the coolest features of the Tigard park, although the whole park is fun
Michael O’Friel – Madonna
Josh Mattson is really an underrated skater; good tricks everywhere, good style, great board control – 3rd place. Think that Josh did a 5-0 through the crazy corner too
The venue, well they could skate the other bowls but most of the action went down in this bowl
Danny Tumia ollies up and onto the banked wall
Nolan Munroe Madonna’s through the corner
Body jar by Jimmy the Greek
Big ol backside air by Packy Fancher
Fingerflip
Chaz Pineta – crail to revert
Steeve Reeves up and into disaster
Keith Baldassaro ollies up onto the banked wall up and over some chaos. Keith would end up going down hard but kept skating
Josh Mattson and Kevin Kowalski getting close in the hectic finals
Mason Huggins fingerflip
Benji Galloway
Michael O’Friel through the corner
Girls winners with Julie Kindstrand in 1st, Nora Vasconcellos in 2nd and Priscilla Lee in 3rd
Kowalski definitely deserved the win and was pretty happy about it
