The event will take place between 8am and 4pm on June 21st.
The first annual Block Rock and Session presented by Skateboardrev.com will occur on June 21st “National Go Skateboarding Day” in Jamestown New York. This is a festival that blends music and skateboarding, which offers a great environment for the skateboard community.
The festival will be held in Downtown Jamestown between Main Street and Pine Street. This will position the competition right in front of Suburban Blend Skate and Snowboard Shop, and the shop will be operational for the duration of the competition for any equipment needs and repairs.
The skateboard contest will consist of three different events. This list of games consists of 1) A game of SK8 (PIG/HORSE for skateboarders) 2) The High Ollie Contest --Which will offer the opportunity to break the world record, and 3) An open skateboard Jam with real street skate obstacles.
Next door to Suburban Blend Skate and Snowboard Shop is an outdoor stage. Potters Terrace more affectionately known to locals as the "Wood Park." In this location will be three musical performances throughout the day. Artists will include Hot Stenographer, The Audience, and Junkbutton. Bands are scheduled to perform during the skateboard events to raise the energy level of the skaters and surrounding environment.
Billabong, Circa Shoes, Dakine, Etnies Shoes, Dragon Optics, Electric Optics, Syndrome Distribution and South Shore Distribution will provide prizes for the top placing skaters. Additionally Guayaki Yerba Matte Teas will be offered to each skater to boost energy levels as a healthy alternative to other energy drinks.

About Suburban Blend: Suburban Blend was founded in September of 1997 by Scott and Sue Harding. Recently Pete Scheira and Billy Bacon, both longtime die-hard riders, bought the shop to keep the stoke alive in Jamestown. They both live for snowboarding and ride 100+ days a season.
Our goal is to set ourselves apart from the traditional e-commerce store owned by Companies who don’t snowboard or even care about it. We are snowboarders, using our love and knowledge to help others have the best possible days on the hill.
