At the last second it seemed like a good idea to go check out a movie on Friday night. That movie happened to be a premier for Stereo Sound Agency Field Report at The White Elephant Bar and Grill in Carlsbad, owned by non-other than Matt Henseley. With no cover and free beers, the place was packed with skateboarders like Kris Markovich, Clint Peterson, John Lupfer, Kristan Svitak, Owen Neider, Nate Jones and non skateboarder hanger on types as well as the typical So Cal tattooed up type that neither skates or owns a motorcycle but watches it on tv. A lot of the crowd split after the movie was over but many stayed and reveled in the night activities the only decent bar in Carlsbad has to offer on a Friday night. Hensleys is worth a stop for food and grub anytime you are in the area. Shit, recently even the band Matt is in, Flogging Molly, played and impomptu show there.
The video itself was short but sweet, perfect fortodays youth with short attention spans. The whole team was pretty much in it. Check their website for the team stereosoundagency.com/team/ sorry, I did not get a better report, a bar is not conduscive to note taking. The music was of the 60-70’s lounge/jazz type, the video showed that skating is still fun but had an aftertaste of good creative skating. Jason Lee and Chris Pastras host the video. Chris has the openeing part and if Jason Lee had a part at all, I missed it so I am saying he does not have a part but I could be wrong. The Fallen Video it is not but it skateboarding beyond a level of what 95% percent of anyone can do, so watch it!
