World-Class Action Sports Event to Take Place in the Palacio de los Deportes for a Second Year

Mexico City – X Games Mexico will return to Mexico City for a second consecutive year September 20 and 21 at the Palacio de los Deportes. The event will showcase the best athletes in the world competing in disciplines of BMX Freestyle Street, Skateboard Street, Moto X Best Trick, and new disciplines to this year’s lineup, Moto X Freestyle and Best Whip. X Games Mexico is sponsored by prestige brands like Modelo Light and will partner once again with OCESA, the largest entertainment company in Latin America.

“After the positive response received from the fans in Mexico City last year, ESPN is proud to bring X Games back for a second time," said Rick Alessandri, Senior Vice President, ESPN Consumer Products and X Games Managing Director. “As the X franchise continues to grow globally, we truly appreciate the on-going support that the people of Mexico have given us and we look forward to another successful event this year."

“We are pleased to be associated with Modelo Light, Lala Shot, Vans, Telcel and OCESA to bring the X Games to Mexico City after its successful Mexico City debut in 2007,” said Gerardo Casanova, General Manager of ESPN Mexico.  “Last year we had 30 athletes from 12 different countries and this year we will again have the most outstanding athletes in the world competing side-by-side with our prominent Mexican athletes on top-quality courses.  ESPN is excited about this opportunity to expand upon our great relationship with sports fans throughout the country.”

ESPN International in producing five hours of original programming presenting the highlights of this second edition of X Games Mexico. In addition, there will be 2.5 hours of LIVE broadcasting Saturday, September 20 and Sunday, September 21 on ESPN 2.
