Emerica Team Update

Andrew Reynolds got a plethora of coverage in the November 2008 issue of Thrasher. Shots from the Bust or Bail! contest and the Baker / Deathwish tour are abundant. Andrew has also been literally killing it on the home front lately, cruising his personal concrete skatepark in his front yard.

Heath Kirchart recently moved into a loft in downtown Los Angeles. It’s really close to the Berrics, which is nice and convenient for him. Heath has been hitting up that spot quite a bit, working on tricks for the two video parts he is currently filming for Emerica and Alien Workshop.

Ed Templeton is hard at work in his studio for an upcoming art show at Roberts and Tilton in Los Angeles in November. The Huntington Beach Skatepark was recently demolished, but Ed didn't let it go without a fight. That park had a lot of history in skateboarding, and Ed and some friends wanted to preserve some of it by stealing the flat bar to donate to the new HB skatepark. Ed rules!

Kevin “Spanky” Long just moved in to a new apartment in Hollywood with Patrick O’Dell. Spanky has some coverage from the aforementioned Baker / Deathwish tour article. Be sure to scope it!

Jerry Hsu recently had a minor knee surgery to clean up some cartilage that has been causing him pain. He had it done in San Diego by a surgeon who specializes in sports injuries. Jerry is on the mend on Spanky’s couch this week and should be up and running in a few weeks. Get well soon, Jerry!

Bryan Herman is really enjoying skating picnic tables lately. He has been filming some mind-blowing lines with Beagle the past few weeks. Herman skated the GvR contest this past weekend.

Leo Romero just returned home from a RVCA trip to Spain. As usual, he got some quality footage for Stay Gold. Leo is working on an interview for Skateboarder, so keep your eyes peeled for that!

Braydon Szafranski just turned 25. In case you haven’t already got a sneak peak of his new Emerica pro model shoe, check out the backside Smith grind photo in the Baker / Deathwish tour article. The Braydon shoe will be out in Spring 2009.

Chris Senn has recently relocated back to the mainland from Hawaii. He now resides in San Francisco right at the bottom of the backside 9th Avenue run, and he is stoked! Senn ripped the Skull Bowl at the GvR bowl contest Friday night.

Aaron Suski was out in Cali last week for a Volcom catalog shoot and to do some filming. This week, he is in New York finishing up an interview for TransWorld and filming for the upcoming Zoo York video.

Brandon Westgate helped out the Goofy team at GvR. Next week, he is cruising up to San Francisco to get some footage along with Spanky, Leo, Figgy, Collin Provost, Miner and myself.

Marquis Preston recently moved to Huntington Beach, California with his friend and Emerica flow rider Matt Mendenhall. Marquis has been frequenting the Costa Mesa skatepark and shredding some Orange County spots.

Jamie Tancowny is returning home this week from a trip up to Ashland, Oregon, where he was due in court for a prior skateboarding-related conflict. Jamie could have been facing some jail time and deportation back to Canada, but he was instead given a fine and banned from Ashland for life. Yeah, Jamie!

Justin Figueroa was the Goofy MVP in the GvR contest this past weekend. Figgy recently got his driver’s license and a car, so if you're walking around Irvine, California anytime soon, you better watch out!
