Skateboarding in Erie Pennsylvania... Erie is probably one of the best places to skate around northwestern PA and Western NY. Being one of the larger cities in its area, it offers many obstacles to skate. Friends and I often take trips to Erie to spend a day of skating out there and the weather always seems to be nicer there than in most areas. A good thing for skateboarders who skate here is, the law doesn't really seem to bother you. Yes, occasionally you will get stopped but i have not yet come into contact with a citation. On the other hand security from Hamot and Gannon can get pretty annoying. Theres just about everything you can skate out here; rails, ledges, hubbas, wedges, gaps, manny pads, and even a new concrete skatepark is in the process of being built. Most of the stuff to skate out here is pretty smooth. Theres even a mini Barcelona bump to rail, a little smaller but hey, its hella fun to skate. Some things are skate stopped but for the majority its all good and all fun. Theres enough stuff to skate in each part of the city that you could make it a weekend skate trip to hit a lot of it. Downtown everything is bunched together, just about every block has something cool to skate. On the outskirts of town there is some narly stuff like the Barcelona bump (aka) The Koolaid Ditch to the locals, and some spots spread out from the mall all the way into town. If your in the area and skate I recomend you pull out your skateboard and do some shreadin in Erie.

- Long 9 stair at Erie Insurance place
- Slick brick ledge by Hamot
