etnies Wooden Waffles Tour Update: Stops 5 & 6

Saturday, February 17th, we left Utrecht (in Holland) early for a three hour ride to Verviers in Belgium. All riders, including three extra Belgian etnies riders, had never been to the skatepark, but all of 'em liked the park a lot.

The park isn't big but has a good setup. Most riders liked the stairs and the rails. Coolest obstacle was by far the big hip with the flatbar on top. It was waxed like crazy in there. You you could grind faster then you would roll towards the coping.

The etnies teamriders even did a demo after four hours of skating and seriously annihilated the place. One of the best demos ever by Dutch skateboarders, no doubt!

We spent the night in Antwerp in a hotel, and after waking up skated the new outdoor park. Built by Team Pain, it's a really good park! Around 1 p.m. we left for the North Park. Since everybody was already warmed up from the session before, it didn't take long for the riders to start ripping again.

Wooden Waffles Tour Update: Stops 3 & 4

Day 3: We went to Middelburg, in the southwest corner of Holland. The Meker skatepark is one of the smallest on the world, but has a really good vibe. As soon as the riders got in, Axel Cruysberghs started the etnies show. Each trick he landed got the crowd even more hyped. Soon the rest of the riders where backing Axel. Evelien Bouilliart and Bart Naafs where both sick at home, but the other eight etnies riders took care of biz. The etnies Wooden Waffles tour was by far the busiest event in the Meker skatepark, ever. Thanks to the Meker and Forties crew for this amazing day!

Day 4: Last Sunday we went to Burnside skatepark 'n shop. With 16 years one of the oldest skateboard shops in Holland. Since the moved to their current location about five years ago they have a skatepark in the back of the shop, which makes it even more special.

etnies Wooden Waffles Tour Update: Stops 1 & 2

Last Saturday the etnies Wooden Waffles tour started in skatepark The Promise in Heerlen, a small city in the south of Holland. A total of three cars, all filled with various Dutch and Belgian etnies teamriders, left from various cities in the Benelux. Around 1 pm all three vehicles made it to the skatepark.
The Promise is not really centrally located in Holland, and therefore not too many Dutch skateboarders visit the park. It is one of the best ones without any doubt. Decent obstacles, the whole place is super clean and a super friendly staff.
Some of the locals where so stoked to see the etnies riders in their local park, that the spray painted a bunch of logos all over the park. Now that's a warm welcome!
