It's not often that a person gets a chance to set up a fundraiser to
benefit a family that has experienced such turmoil, it's even less
often that this person is a skateboarder. The tragedy that hit the
Mckinnon family was a big blow to our home community and has been met
headlong with fundraiser after fundraiser to help them. This was our
fundraising effort, it went down on Saturday, October 4th, and by all
means was a success. When it comes down to it, Justen Valle is a monster on a skateboard, though a tiny little boy off of one. He skated everything, got gnarly on the stairs, and I'm pretty sure he could kickflip anything. Tom Storm also killed it all day long, Tom is a big man, and took some HUGE slams trying to throw a frontside three down the stairs, he came close but no cigar. Tyler Gustafson killed it all day and can do any fs bigspin combo and proved it. He has tricks on tranny, the rails, the hip, and the stairs. I hope that in the future you will see these kids in person and be as blown away by their skills as I am. Thanks to everyone who came out to donate, watch, and skate. With a special thanks reserved for the sponsors of the event: Suburban Blend, Skateboardrev.com, and Bakwoods.
