Mid-Atlantic Skate Series Results

Willis Kimbel, one of our Grenade team members, stopped by to let me in on a contest he’s been running with his dad Curt Kimbel for over six years now. Willis is always a super mellow kind of guy and here at Grenade we’re glad to support events like the annual Mid-Atlantic skate series.

Every year, we get coverage in local media as well as the Washington Post, and there is constantly kids just slaying the park. This year was no exception. We had kids from all over including Ben Hatchell, Ben took 1st in Tampa Am vert this year, and 2nd in Tampa Am street (Amazing…). We got some great photos with each of these events in Arlington, Olney, and Charles County with the Grenade Pro Bowl competition.

Charles County mass series contest was an entire sweep with the Hilbish kids. 14 year old Jake Hilbish edged out 16 year old Corey Rubin by launching huge boned out airs. While Jake’s older brother Nathan Hilbish showed up to take the win for 18-39 Grenade Bowl class.

Chris Williams later rolled in to lay down with skate all over - faster than fire – without ever stopping style to go on to win the Aplomb Pro street class though only after narrowly beating big trick killer Trevor Colden

Ronnie O’Neal and Frank Schaffroth went at it again over the 11-13 year bowl division. With Ronnie squeaking out to win, both of these little guys just completely destroy concrete.

Kyle Drumwright and Korey Gandey continued to dominate all over the Intermediate and Advanced street class with Tyler Martin taking the win in the Novice class street contest.

Needless to say everyone had a blast, thanks to Willis and Curt Kimbel for hosting this outstanding contest.
