This is Nick Palmquist. When he skates he skates really well. This was shot in Orange County Los Angeles. In this photograph Nick is doing noseblunt slide. This spot is good. Brick buttery ledges.
Damn there's some crazy fires going on right now, as you might be aware Southern California is on fire right now. Shit is burning everywhere. North, South, East, West. It's all on fire. Houses going down left and right. Whole Neighborhoods gone in just minutes. It's pretty sad to see. But at the same time I have always been told to think there is a positve to every negative. And with this, that means a whole shit load of new pools to skate! North, South, East, West! Kidneys, squares, amoeba's, pills, crazy eights, micky mouses, pools are to be had big time! It's sad, but that's the first thing that comes to my mind. Maybe thats just the hardcore, pool hesh dog coping crusher, shallow end schralper, slappy grind for life skateboarder in me....oh yeah, this is Ryan Williams doing a backside air.
First time I went to Killer Whale Island I went by myself and ended up staying there for 16 days sleeping in my truck. There is just something about the place that makes you not want to leave. Maybe it's the skatepark? Maybe it's the lakes? Maybe it's Obstruction Pass? I'm not quite sure. My friend Ryan Williams enjoys one of the many features at Killer Whale Island skatepark and does a low to high truck bash in mid September in the middle of a 5 minute run. Seriously.
Taking skate photos is great. You never know what your going to get. Sometimes you have all day at a spot and you still cant get anything. Other times only 5 minutes. Shit, not even 5 minutes sometimes.....more like 1try and you end up getting a great photo. It can get frustrating but at the same time I kind of like it because you just never know...... I lucked out this day.... We got kicked out real quick. Just enough time to get a few tries. It was perfect for a siloute and it didnt take all day. We got in, took the photo and then we were kicked out. Mission accomplished.
From a in the womb view Dorfus does a lien to tail.
A Skateboard Revolution Exclusive!!!!
A few months back before my wife gave birth to our child I had a micro size camera inplanted in her by a doctor friend of mine in Canada. When she was a week late I got a call from my friend Dorfus saying he was in town and wanted to skate. Now if you dont know who Dorfus is then do your research. I cant even begin to try and explain the ways of Dorfus. Anyways not being able to pass up shooting photos/skating with Dorfus I brought the wife along and hoped for the best she wouldn't go into labor while we were in the San Bernadino summer heat.
Well my hopes were crushed when she started to go into labor an hour into the skate session. I told her to hold it and we would get her to the hospital as soon as I could grind over the stairs. Being the flail I am, I just couldnt get the right line to get over them. Sarah, my wife couldnt handle it any longer and gave birth right then and there at the pool.
This is the photo from the mini mirco cam implanted inside her when she gave birth to Brooklyn Rose Fritz.
Yesterday evening I went surfing in the Pacific Ocean. The waves sucked but I felt like shooting the curl soooo bad. At the same time I was paranoid for some reason....Maybe it was because these sketchy ass kids look liked they were scoping out my shit. So when I went to paddle out I hid my keys in the rocks so those same kids wouldn't steal any of my worthless crap from my car. I surfed. I flailed. When I came in it was dark and the smart guy that I am I hid the keys so well that I ended up hiding them from myself. Looked over an hour for them. Never did find them. I suck. The end. I know this story has nothing to do with this photo. Just felt like it had to be told......
Scotty Keller doing his signature tail slide over the doorway at Channel St. This place is like an alley way full of transition. I dont know what your into skating but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this place is fun........
I know I fucked this sequence up. I guess I'm a pussy sometimes. About 7 years ago Peter blasted me in the collar bone like no other and ever since I think it's gonna happen every time I try to shoot his photo-like that happens often for me......Anyways Mr. Hewitt rips and this isnt the best seq but its something.....and it's at the park. almost anything is good here.
I know the angle sucks for this photo right? Well good ol Dingus went at this beast full speed and didnt tell me. Kinda like a reflex photo. But hey at least its in focus right.........I'm workin on the Montana story right now. So until then look at this photo and wonder why skateboarding is the shizzzznit!
It's just a frontside grind, but look at those pretty clouds.
It's just a frontside grind.....what's the big deal right? Well if you have ever been to Lincon City before you would know that skating this tombstone is no easy task. Kyle Gallahger grinds where few ever will. All hail Cobra!!!
