This past weekend a bunch of us drove, flew, trained and bused to San Francisco for the Volcomics artshow on Saturday night at Space Gallery. When I got to San Fran, the weather was prefect and the streets were bustling with people shopping, eating and milling around. I made my way from the BART to the Gallery without getting mugged or lost and when I got there the show was just beginning. There were a few dozen people inside, enjoying the open bar and taking in the art from 20 or so different artists involved in the Volcomic book. A few of the artists were in attendance as well, (Mike Sieben, Travis Millard, Todd Bratrud, Mike Aho) and spent the night mingling with friends and enjoying the show. As time went on, it became harder and harder to get to the free drinks because the place was filling up so fast. Upstairs in the loft, ((Sounder)) started playing and really got the blood flowing. After a short break Neil Hamburger got up on the stage and did his signature comedic performance, that if you haven’t seen or heard you really should. Then DJ Wade kept the party going until the bar booze ran dry and the party spilled into the streets at the wee hours of the morning. If you missed out on this one, you can check out the final showing of Volcomics next week in Tokyo. Thanks everyone for coming out!
